Welcome to the story.

There’s nothing quite like the rainbow — arcoíris — that sits between these mountains after a good rain.

For generations, producers in Bolivia have worked to care for their land and communities, selling their beans locally and abroad. Many came to know all too well, though, the pain of empty promises from middle-buyers while also feeling the disproportionate impact of social inequities and climate change on their communities.

So the people began to rally, attracting the attention and support of experienced producers, professional baristas and tasters, ecological experts, social workers, project managers, and more. Now, the co-op has over 100 members in addition to board members that support its administration and social/ecological programs.

Bio-Arcoíris R.L. was formed as a legal entity in early 2023, but its experience stretches back generations and dreams far into the future, with a special emphasis on the empowerment of women, Indigenous communities, and the generations growing up on their farms.

  • As Bio-Arcoíris, we cultivate community resilience and ecological sustainability through the power of partnership.

  • From generation to generation, lives will be transformed in harmony with the land.

  • The co-op’s programs are three-pronged: Economic, Social, and Ecological.

Co-op members receive regular technical assistance and training on their lands, access to new technology and resources, and are actively included in the planning for social initiatives that they wish to see in their communities. The co-op has a particular focus on empowering its Indigenous and women members and the generations that are growing up on their lands. Every local and global sale supports this mission as well as additional grants the co-op procures.
